State Requirement
Before Entergy can give clearance on a highway, waterway, for moving a house, etc. the state now requires a permit before the work can be done.
Only licensed Electrician/Plumber may contact the permit office to receive a permit/approval. The customer is never to call the permit office
As of June 1992, the state of Louisiana has passed a law which states that “no permit is required to connect or re-connect a traffic signal light” located on state property i.e. highways, buildings, etc.
Electrical permit or inspection for one or more of the following:
Vacant longer than 6 months for residential only
New construction, temporary meter
New construction, permanent meter
Existing structure-if Entergy has to run a service line a permit is required
Fire reconnect for commercial only
Electrical code violation for commercial only
Rewiring/increase in service for commercial only
Meter pan/base or loop change/relocation for commercial only
Temporary disconnects for commercial only
Each time a commercial customer requests service to a business (new or established locations)
Inactive for 6 months residential only
Exceptions:
Existing lift Stations that have been turned off
Note: If there is a storm and customer needs permit, we will hook them up over the weekend and they will need to call parish on MONDAY to get permit or they will be disconnected again until permit is received.
